The Rochester Theater Organ Society is over 50 years old. It all began as Rochester, New York’s last movie palace was being destroyed and a group of theatre organ enthusiasts took the initiative to save the RKO Palace’s four manual and 21 rank Wurlitzer instrument. That effort and subsequent Society events have created many memories of past events.

RKO Palace Closing

With the closing of the RKO Palace, RTOS purchases the Wurlitzer theatre organ and moved it to the Auditorium Theatre, East Main Street, Rochester, NY. Just prior to closing a number of color slides were taken. Click on button to right to few a few examples.

RTOS 50th Anniversary

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Rochester Theater Organ Society, a weekend celebration was held. By clicking on the button to the right you can review that event’s information and images.

ATOS 2019 National Convention
