Charter Members
In 1964, when it was know that the RKO Palace Theatre was going to close and be demolished, a core of those involved with the instrument chartered the Rochester Theatre Organ Society. The “story” of RTOS and its evolution can be found here.
As part of the birth of the Society, a number of fundraising efforts were undertaken to purchase the Wurlitzer as well as relocate it to the Auditorium Theatre. The first 50 members of the Society were identified as Charter Members. The list of those individuals is presented below.
