Anyone that has visited downtown Rochester, NY is faced with a view of many different sizes and shapes of buildings formed from an eclectic collection of architecture styles. These include the winged shaped top of the Times Square Building, the strong vertical lines of the Chase Tower, the pointed top of the Bausch and Lomb Plaza or the arched shape of the I-490 Bridge over the Genesee River. (shown to the right)

For the 2019 ATOS Convention the Convention Booklet cover (shown to the left) utilized this type of view as a portion of the cover graphics. As a logo for the event, a photo of the Wurlitzer Tower building was utilized with the company name clearly visible at its top.
During planning discussions for the 2026 Convention it was decided that a logo that focused on Rochester should be created. The 2019 skyline photo was considered, however, a graphic was wanted that could be used on the planned yellow shirts and other printed materials. Additionally, the though was that some type of organ representation was need in the logo. (shown to the left)
Utilizing the photo from 2019 and organ pipes and musical notes as a background, along with the Convention’s theme “ROC the Pipes” was added. While moving toward true graphic, it contain too much photographic qualities.

The RTOS has had a long-term working relationship with Visit Rochester, the city’s promotion effort. They were provided with the drafted idea image and with the help of their graphic artists, the resulting 2026 ATOS Convention logo was created. Many thanks to Visit Rochester for their support.
